One Palestianian has been killed and several others injured in Israeli strikes on the besieged Gaza Strip, medical sources say.
The Palestinian lost his life in an airstrike near the Shejaiya
neighborhood while two others were wounded. Three others were injured as
Israeli tanks fired shells on the same area on Thursday.
Ashraf al-Qodra, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, said the Israeli army fired several shells into the area leading to excessive damage.
The wounded were moved to the al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza.
Furthermore, several armored Israeli military vehicles and a number of armored bulldozers invaded the area, and uprooted farmlands while the army fired shells and rounds of live ammunition.
The Israeli military frequently attacks the Gaza Strip, saying the actions are being conducted for defensive purposes. However, disproportionate force is always used, in violation of international law, and civilians are often killed or injured.
In addition to airstrikes and ground attacks, the Tel Aviv regime also denies about 1.7 million people in Gaza their basic rights, including the freedom of movement and the right to decent living, work, health and education.
Gaza has been blockaded since 2007, a situation that has caused a decline in the standard of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment, and unrelenting poverty.
